This service is offered for anyone who has just purchased a car for themselves or a relative or friend & is concerned about the safety & performance of the braking system and whether or not the tracking requires adjustment. All wheels are removed on order to carry out a full inspection where possible. We will report to you the remaining life of of the brake pads or linings, check your brake fluid level & carry out a full brake efficency check. This also includes brake drag and imbalance, simulating light, moderate and emergency braking on one of our latest "state of the art" VOSA approved fully computerised rolling roads. (Better for you to find out that the brakes in your car pull to one side under emergency braking on our rolling road rather than finding out for yourself on the real road in a real emergency!)
Please note: It may not be possible to inspect the rear brake shoes on some cars without causing damage to the brake drums or wheel bearings. If this is the case with your car we will visually check the through the rear brake drum "spy holes" (if present) or advise that further investigation is required. Also note: If during any brake disassembly, the brakes may be found in a dangerous condition, you are under no obligation to instruct us to repair the vehicle. However, we will ask you to sign a disclaimer and advise you the vehicle must not be used on the road and is removed from the site by a recovery service (AA or RAC) to comply with the law.
